We've been following the IDE story all along - am I missing something here? See, for example:

Kernel pages: April 18, May 9, July 11, August 22, and September 5, etc.
Front page: August 22.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but perhaps what we really need is to fix the search engine problem so people can find this stuff...?

Based on your comment I see how my post could be misinterpreted. By definition that makes it badly written. Sorry ;-(

What I meant was: some in-depth interrogation of the development group and/or Linus to get an understanding of (a) what happened (b) why (c) what the current direction/thinking is in this area.
