Turku, Finland ž¶ September 13, 2002. Probatus Technologies, a provider of
information management and systems integration solutions, has released
Probatus Spectra(TM) Linux 1.2, the company's newest operating environment
designed for robust data processing.

Probatus Spectra(TM) Linux 1.2 has been expanded to three CD-ROMs, and the
updated system components include Probatus' own 2.4.18-6pro release of the
Linux kernel and the 3.0.1 release of the K Desktop Environment(TM).
However, Spectra Linux 1.2 offers the Linux community more than just a
system update. The new version of the leading Linux distribution enhances
the base operating environment with an excellent set of standards compliant
solutions provided by the pioneering uDevix Alliance.

Probatus Spectra(TM) Linux 1.2 introduces new value-added collections of
resources for professional and home use. Probatus Spectra(TM) uDevix 1.0 and
Probatus Spectra(TM) uOffix 1.0 contain selected state-of-the-art commercial
products, and Probatus Spectra(TM) uDoctrix 1.0 provides a fully indexed
knowledge base of essential Linux documentation in a transparently
compressed CD-ROM format. The uDoctrix knowledge base can be used directly
from the CD, or it can be installed as a Web server add-on for access with
any browser on any operating system.

The Linux solutions provided exclusively on Probatus Spectra(TM) uDevix and
Probatus Spectra(TM) uOffix have been made available by the vendors taking
part in the uDevix Alliance. Database management and data migration; code
debugging and optimization; PDF creation and management; the products on
Spectra uDevix and uOffix disks provide facilities for such central tasks.
When these commercial software products are combined with the hundreds of
software applications that the base Spectra Linux distribution itself
contains, the users will be able to benefit from a Linux environment that
extends to all imaginable purposes.
