Package description:
coreutils:
The GNU coreutils includes a number of GNU versions of common and popular
utilites which used to be part of the fileutils, sh-utils and textutils.
fileutils:
The fileutils package includes a number of GNU versions of common and
popular file management utilities.
anonftp:
The anonftp package contains the files you need in order to
allow anonymous FTP access to your machine.
Problem description:
An integer overflow in ls in the fileutils or coreutils packages may allow
local users to cause a denial of service or execute arbitrary code via a
large -w value, which could be remotely exploited via applications that use
ls, such as wu-ftpd.
Action:
We recommend that all systems with this package installed be upgraded.
Please note that if you do not need the anonftp package, you may want to
remove it from your system.
