Rococo Software Launches Bluetooth Developer Kit Early Adopter Program for
Palm OS and Linux

San Francisco, California – March 27, 2002 – Rococo Software, builder of
Bluetooth™ application development tools, announces an Early Adopter Program
for Impronto Developer Kit, the world’s first standards-based Java tool for
developing Bluetooth applications.

To kick-off the program, Rococo is demonstrating Impronto DK, Palm OS
Edition at JavaOne with a Palm-based instant messenger. The messaging
application, written with Impronto DK, allows real-time instant messaging
with a Bluetooth-enabled Palm. “The response to the instant messenger at
JavaOne has been very positive,” said Rococo CEO, Sean O’Sullivan. “We now
look forward to working with early adopters in bringing Impronto DK to
market.”

Impronto Developer Kit (DK) for both Palm OS and Linux implement standard
Java APIs for Bluetooth Wireless Technology (JABWT). A wireless application
written with Impronto DK will run on any standard Bluetooth Java platform
without making changes to the code. “Impronto DK extends the core premise of
Java—write once, run anywhere,” said CTO and Rococo co-founder, Karl McCabe.
“Now, developers can quickly build truly portable Java applications while
making full use of Bluetooth technology.”
