Extended Systems Ships Advantage TDataSet Descendant Client for Kylix Delphi developers can port applications to Linux without rewriting database code BOISE, Idaho-(March 27, 2002)-Extended Systems (Nasdaq: XTND), a leading provider of mobile data management and wireless connectivity solutions, announced today that its Advantage Database Server TDataSet Descendant client for Kylix (Delphi for Linux) is now shipping. Kylix support allows Delphi developers to port existing Advantage TDataSet Descendant applications to the Linux operating system without rewriting any of their database access code. This feature enables developers to expand into Web services applications while capitalizing on the performance, scalability and zero-administration technology offered with Advantage Database Server. The new Advantage Kylix components will provide database access without the use of Borland's dbExpress just as the Advantage Windows components currently provide database access without the use of the Borland Database Engine (BDE).
