RED HAT EMBEDDED TECHNOLOGY OPTIMIZED FOR INTEL® IOP321 I/O PROCESSOR BASED
ON INTEL® XSCALE

Red Hat Provides Complete Open Source Development Suite, Including eCos RTOS,
GNUPro Development Tools, and RedBoot Firmware

INTEL DEVELOPER FORUM, SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.--February 26, 2002--Red Hat,
Inc. (Nasdaq:RHAT), today announced that it will provide a complete
development suite, including tools, firmware and real-time operating system,
for the newly unveiled Intel® IOP321 I/O processor based on the Intel® XScale
technology. In addition to providing the development suite for the Intel
IOP321 I/O processor, Red Hat will continue to work closely with Intel to
provide GNUPro Tools for additional Intel XScale technology-based processors.

with tools and expertise they need to develop software applications that take
full advantage of the unique strengths of the Intel IOP321 I/O processor,"

to quickly bring new solutions to market."

Red Hat's complete suite of open source embedded tools, RTOS and firmware
will be available with  Intel IOP321 I/O processor storage development
platforms and includes the following features:

· RedBoot, a comprehensive embedded boot and debug firmware solution
· Fully featured eCos RTOS developers kit, providing open source, royalty
free RTOS and associated libraries
· Device support for onboard peripherals including gigabit Ethernet and full
IPv4 protocol stack
· GNUPro compiler toolsuite, including C, C++, assembler and associated tools.
