Rococo Software and Extended Systems Bring Java/Bluetooth to Wireless
Developers and OEMs

Dublin, Ireland – February 14, 2002 – Wireless Java company, Rococo Software
announces today it will integrate Extended Systems’ Bluetooth software stack
XTNDAccess Blue SDK with Rococo’s Impronto Developer Kit. With this
agreement, Java developers can access the market’s leading Bluetooth stack
with easy-to-use, standards-based Java APIs from Rococo.

"Rococo offers a fast, easy solution to Java developers who want to work
with the Extended Systems Bluetooth stack," said Ross O'Crowley, Rococo
Software's Director of Business Development. "The growing demand for Java
APIs over Bluetooth is evidence that Java is quickly becoming a key platform
for wireless developers."

According to Rococo CTO, Karl McCabe, “Rococo’s Impronto Developer Kit (DK),
available in April, naturally fits with Extended Systems’ Bluetooth
software. “Impronto DK already runs on the PalmOS, which uses Extended
Systems’ stack, so this step more fully integrates Impronto DK with Extended
Systems’ software.”

"Extended Systems welcomes Rococo’s work with Java. From the beginning it
has been our goal to provide Java-compatible Bluetooth support to developers
who want to develop and execute Java applications," explained Glade Diviney,
Extended Systems' Embedded R&D Manager. "By integrating our Bluetooth stack
with Java, Extended Systems and Rococo bring together two important
technologies."

Rococo Software and Extended Systems are associate members of the Bluetooth
SIG and both are members of the JSR-82 Expert Group, which implements key
industry Java standards (JABWT) to enable fast, easy Bluetooth development
in Java. By running Rococo's Impronto Developer Kit over Extended Systems'
XTNDAccess(tm) Blue SDK, Java developers worldwide can easily access
Bluetooth technology.
